Business Development Manager

Sussex Healthcare

Location- Warnham, West Sussex

Salary- £40,000-£45,000 per annum

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to take responsibility for maintaining and growing our health care services and be the driving force behind our business development activity. Developing a thorough knowledge of our services, and with project management experience, you will grow existing opportunities and identify new business streams, developing new products and services in line with the strategy, targets and objectives of SHC.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new opportunities and strategies to enhance SHC
  • Maximise new business development opportunities
  • Generating ongoing business with existing external clients such as social services, WSCC, CCG, private clients.
  • Attend networking events to promote the company and generate new leads
  • Produce written new business proposals and client presentations.
  • Attend client visits and articulate the range of services to close new business.

Contracts and Referrals

  • Regular communication with Chief Operating Officer (COO), Regional Operations Directors (RODs) and Home Managers to ensure void priorities influence marketing activity.
  • Report analysis, trends and recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to inform service development and growth.
  • To work effectively with the SLT, Marketing team and IT to inform external marketing activities (i.e. local campaigns, website, social media, etc).
  • To have a commitment to multi-disciplinary team working.
  • To work effectively with all departments of Sussex Health Care.
  • To establish positive relationships with other potential sources of referrals (e.g. specialist colleges, providers, etc.).
  • To identify and forge relationships within provider events, networking and forum opportunities, marketing events, etc
  • Through the CRM identify contacts to inform engagement and promotion of referrals, including 'global' campaigns, targeted marketing, SHC awareness raising, 'cold calling' and other identified referrals promotion activities.
  • Invest in relationships to establish a level of confidence and secure current and future commissioning.
  • Identify and develop relationships with Local Authorities' commissioning teams, transition teams, hospital discharge teams, etc to secure awareness of SHC and its product range.
  • Ensure a Referrals Database is maintained to monitor and track progress from initial contact to admission, or otherwise.
  • Interrogate the Referrals Database to identify trends (i.e. service type, commissioner trends, demographics, geographical referrals statistics, age, etc) and inform future planning and targeted activities.
  • Liaise with Home Managers to ensure accurate service specifications inform marketing content and establish a balance between effective marketing and avoidance of promise gap.
  • Establish and maintain a contracts library and ensure contract compliance through liaison with Home Managers.
  • Ensure marketing and referrals activities reflect the Voids, Referrals and Contract Management Strategy, and ensure activities and updates are maintained to evidence progress.

Marketing

  • Process and provide results analysis of regular company mailings
  • Collate and publish occupancy statistics accurately and in a timely manner
  • Record accurate referral activity and use data as business intelligence to inform and influence progress, and identify opportunities
  • Ensure that occupancy statistics inform marketing activity as agreed
  • Deliver to identified Key Performance Indicators with regards to marketing related timelines and activities
  • Produce and circulate daily/weekly/monthly suite of excel reports as agreed
  • Database management and development
  • Produce and manage marketing materials from suppliers and maintaining stock levels
  • Contribute to the growth of social media networks and audiences.
  • Work as part of the team to develop and manage larger social media campaigns.
  • Providing material to inform the currency of websites and social media

Person Specification

  • Degree educated or degree calibre

Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Must hold a current UK driving licence
  • Must be flexible to business needs including evening/weekend working as requested
  • Must have advanced IT/reporting skills
  • Securing new business and increasing the existing client base
  • Excellent support and infrastructure to help you be successful
  • A consultative approach to generating and closing new business.
  • Able to own and develop relationships with key decision makers.
  • Writing and presenting tenders
  • Work well within a team
  • Good presentation skills
  • Strong organisation skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
